The Michael Moorcock collection

Gollancz has embarked on one of the most significant republishing programmes in genre fiction – the Michael Moorcock collection, comprising over 30 print editions and many more individual ebooks, covering almost all of his genre work. All of the work has been revisited and refined by Mike’s long term bibliographer John Davey. We’re delighted that the first titles and ebooks have just been released into the wild, and asked Mike for a few quick words to celebrate.

“I’m very pleased to be once again associated with Victor Gollancz.  For years they have had the reputation for publishing great fiction and especially great SF and Fantasy and it’s an honour to be associated with all their wonderful writers.  This programme will be the most ambitious so far for me, with all my books going through what will be their final revisions to make them definitive editions.  I’m curious to know what everyone thinks of the new books.  You can tell me, if you like, here or at my own website Moorcock’s Miscellany.  I am immensely grateful for all the work the VG editorial team has done, especially Marcus Gipps, Darren Nash and the astonishing John Davey.”

You can find a list of the ebooks over on our sister site, the SF Gateway.

We’re pleased to be running a competition to give away two sets of the first (physical) books – Elric: The Moonbeam Roads (three volumes), Corum (two volumes), Gloriana and the first volume of Hawkmoon. Just email competitions@orionbooks.co.uk, including your postal details, with the subject line Moorcock by midnight on 12th April 2013 for a chance to win.
